I'm currently in the process of designing two Empire armies, one for general play and a second for a narrative campaign of my own creation.
My general all comers army is for the time being based around the Empire Armies of Infamy book City State of Nuln list. However, its not a Nuln themed list and I don't traditionally play Gunlines, so why I have settled on it is still a bit of a mystery.
My army is themed as a force out of Grenzstadt at the mouth of the Black Fire Pass, led by the character General Hans von Löwenhacke. It fits my old play style from 8th Edition to a degree, with a core block of infantry (I used to run two blocks of 40 state troops). Rather than focusing soley on being a gunline though, I have brought in lots of movable pieces to support.

To what extent this is a competitive list is secondary to making an Empire force that I think looks believable as an Imperial force on the Averland Marches and that is fun to build and paint. I managed to get a good start on the force over the Summer Holidays, with most of the force now being spray painted and ready to paint over the next few months hopefully. Below is a few work in progress pictures.
Thanks for stopping by and checking in on my hobby projects!
Cheers
Calum
